How to Take Screen Shot of Your Windows Screens Effectively Using ALT

Capturing the Screenshot of the computer screen is a very common task these days. Day/day, the number of people using the computer are increasing. In-order to help these people use the computer effectively, help forums or other websites people are providing tips. But, the pictures (Screen shots) will help a lot in conveying the message properly. So, they are trying to take a screen shot of the window screens and place them in a proper way, so that the users can easily understand the solution. For these people, this tip will be useful to get better results. Also, these screen shots will be useful when you share error screens.
A screen shot is a static picture of your computer display screen. The picture is a digital image taken by the inbuilt function in the operating system or by the external software and can be saved as a GIF,JPEG,TIFF,BMP,PNG or any other imaging format.
Steps to create a Screenshot of your computer screen (Windows)
-> Activate Your Browser Window or Computer Screen. Make sure that this window is the active window in full view (you can maximize your browser window)
-> Press Alt + Print Screen Button. [Pressing Alt key will remove the status bar in the picture]
-> Open a Picture Editor Program such as Paint, Photoshop etc...
-> Go to->Start Menu -> Programs -> Accessories -> Paint
-> In Paint, Click Ctrl + V (or Edit -> Paste)
-> You may need to resize your image to make sure that is under the 800x 600 pixel dimension limit. To do this, click Image -> Stretch as you required.
-> Change the % from 100 to 75 for both the horizontal and vertical stretch fields. Click OK.
-> Save your file by clicking File -> Save As... Specify your file name. Change the 'Save as File Type' to BMP, GIF or JPEG as you require.
